It figures that every time I come up with a really good money making scheme, it doesn't apply to me at all! I've been extremely nauseated today. So I figure I'm either coming down with the flu, or pregnant. As much as I really want a child, our finances are no where near where they should be before adding another member to the family. Not to mention or filthy living conditions and chain smoking. Boy, would that be a mixed blessing. Trick is still having trouble finding medical insurance with perscription coverage that will accept him with hepatitis C. This is a very big deal as his coverage is about to expire and he has over $700 in perscriptions every month, just to keep him alive. If anyone knows of an insurance company in Michigan that might take him, please let me know. Joe keeps losing the checkbook. This is bad as it keeps us from paying the bills and has him feeling too comfortable withdrawing the bill money for fast food and other nickel and dime bullshit. I've tried taking his ATM card, but this pisses him off. Not good. Here's a good article from the Washington times, about Thanksgiving. Is there tofu turkey? With Thanksgiving just around the corner, the recent outbreak of avian influenza in Virginia ("Flattened by the flu," Business, Friday) reminds us that this year we may want to have Thanksgiving dinner without a turkey on the table. As is the case for all factory-farmed animals, turkeys must live in overcrowded, filthy conditions. They endure mutilations without painkillers and have been altered to grow so large so fast that they can barely stand or walk. These birds never go outside or breathe fresh air until they are on the truck to the slaughterhouse. Many turkeys are still fully conscious when slaughtered. More than 40 million of these sensitive, feeling birds will be killed this year for Thanksgiving alone. Each time we eat whether it is on Thanksgiving, Easter or any other day we can choose to show compassion for animals by eating vegetarian food.
